I think "Sloth" is one of the seven deadly sins which suits slippers best.

Imagine that,waking up late but without doing nothing at home,just wandering with your slipper or flip flop,so lazy and so obvious that you want to avoid physical or spiritual works.Because of its casual appearance,it is forbidden in formal occasions such as churches and theaters.

And also,sometimes slippers are also symbol of “Lust”.Maybe the photo below is not that appropriate,because Marilyn Monroe always has an innocent smile on her face.But as our personal supplies,obviously slippers have other meanings.For example,look at such a scene in a movie: early morning in a bedroom,two pairs of slippers spreading out under the bed...... That makes us understand what happened quickly without showing any other scenes.

Odor of slippers

The smell of slippers.......Almost impossible to be good,especially those are used.Yes I tried to smell my slippers,most of the odor is the smell of rubber,while mix other smells such as sweat and body odor.And,different parts emit different kinds of odors.For example the parts which contact with heel are stronger than other parts,I think because we put more pressure with heels on these parts.As for the bottom of slippers smell stuffy---I think this is strange because you can feel this even with your eyes closed,they are stuffy.It's difficult to explain that because it is the dirtiest part full of dust and dirt,but it really smells a "black" smell.
